Popovići, Dubrovnik-Neretva

Pasjača is a dramatic hidden beach tucked beneath towering cliffs near Dubrovnik, reached via a steep staircase and path from the parking area. It rewards visitors with crystal-clear turquoise water, a mix of soft sand and pebbles, and excellent snorkeling with no sea urchins. The beach is small and can become very crowded in peak summer, and facilities down at the shore are minimal, so bring water, snacks, and good footwear.

Lopud, Dubrovnik-Neretva

Beach Šunj on Lopud island is a rare sandy cove in the Dubrovnik region, prized for its soft sand, shallow warm water and pine-backed scenery. It's reached by ferry plus a short walk or a €3 buggy ride, and offers bars, restaurants, showers and changing facilities. Experiences vary: while many call it paradise, others report litter, crowding from tour boats and disputes over expensive, inconsistently priced sunbeds.
